Children’s Specialized Hospital Research Center’s Distinguished Lecture Series is our free research education program for healthcare professionals. Please join us in New Brunswick on Thursday December 12, 2019.
Dr. Pamela Feliciano will speak on the topic of “How to SPARK Answers for Autism: Engaging the National ASD Community in Research.” The lecture will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Brunswick.As Scientific Director of SPARKforAutism.org, Pamela Feliciano leads the effort to build the largest autism research cohort in the US, which has enrolled over 60,000 individuals with autism. Feliciano works with a consortium of researchers that are analyzing genomic data from tens of thousands of participants. Feliciano also manages a unique aspect of SPARK–returning genetic results related to autism to individual participants. Feliciano is also a senior scientist at SFARI, the largest private funder of autism research in the US. At SFARI, she has been involved in efforts to fund the development of objective outcome measures for autism clinical trials. Previously, Feliciano was a senior editor at Nature Genetics, where she was responsible for managing the peer review and decision process of research publications in all areas of genetics. Feliciano has a B.S. from Cornell University, an M.S. from New York University and a Ph.D. from Stanford University. Feliciano resides in NJ with her family and is the mother of a teenager with ASD.
The one hour lecture, followed by 30 minutes of Q&A, will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the NB Auditorium. Lunch will be served. All physicians, researchers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals are invited to attend.
