The authors of this article have designed an Internet-of-Things (IoT) framework named WearSense that leverages the sensing capabilities of modern smartwatches to detect stereotypic behaviors in children with autism. In 2015, a group of 15 institutions launched a study called psychENCORE in which 2000 autism postmortem brain samples were analyzed.
