The Staff Role in Supporting Self Advocacy
In this workshop, we will discuss the goals of the self-advocacy movement and ways that people with disabilities can become involved in self-advocacy. The role of support staff in empowering people with I/DD will be explored from both social and legislative standpoints. Victories of the self-advocacy movement will also be discussed, along with information about People First Language, and voter information specific to the state of New Jersey.
