NJACE Language Guide

Our language guide was created to promote up to date best practices with regard to disability-informed language. NJACE has a mission to help connect researchers and clinicians to the autistic community in an informed manner. Our language guide is here to help you become more comfortable and confident in speaking in an informed and respectful way about neurodiversity and disability.

Younger siblings of children with ASD are known to be at higher risk for developing language delays. The Infancy Studies Lab at Rutgers University-Newark has created an engaging interactive acoustic experience with the aim of helping baby siblings of children with ASD develop better pre-language skills known to be important for optimal and efficient language acquisition.
